It pretty much boils down to us getting smarter and technology getting better over the last 7 years since we originally built them.
We changed the heads to BRODIX BB 2 Xtra cnc. I also did quite a bit of hand porting to them. I went with a little larger camshaft with a 4/7 swap. I changed the blower from a 3.3L Whipple to a 4.0L Whipple. We also changed from an MSD distributor and 6M-2 box to a DIS with 58X crank trigger wheel and 8 coil packs.
The biggest thing for me was not the increase in power. It's easy to make more power with more boost and rpm. We were able to make more power with a little less boost than it had before and do it on cheaper gas. Previously it made 970 hp on 93 octane with 8 psi boost. We were able to break 1100 hp with 89 octane with less than 8 psi boost. Than with 91 octane, we made just about 1200 hp with less than 10 psi.
We were able to just make a more efficient engine. For me, thats what means the most. That's why we changed to the 4.0L Whipple. It is a more efficient blower than the 3.3L. We could have stayed with the 3.3 based on boost alone. However, we now have enough blower to turn it up more if we ever want to.

I think we could see 825 now. Possibly more. I know we could do more than that if we used some big, stupid solid roller and turned it like eleventy gazillion rpms, but that's not what we do. I want to build something that is usable day in and day out that will be reliable. I want something that will last for 400 hours or more.
We have always had some room left with the 750. They make their peak power at 5300-5400 now, so a little larger cam alone would help get the rpms and power up a little. However, we are using better heads, better ignition, etc. All of that will add up to a better engine with more power, hopefully on cheaper gas with longer rebuild intervals.

Donnie told me 108 at 4800 rpm? the boat was not propped right.. ??? i kinda thought they would have had it right when it left the factory but i guess not.
im taking a guess at mid 120s with your at 1100hp.. may be a little lite.. but thats my guess. cant wait to see it!

Thanks very much, we were blown away with everything. Joe wouldn't send any pictures of the boat finished, so when we walked up at the boat show and seen it for the first time it was over whelming. It really was big for us, hard to believe its ours. Stiil tore up over it all !!!
