Smile What's up HUSTLERS?

Anything new going on in the group? We got a bunch of use out of the new girl this year. Blew a drive over Labor Day weekend tho
Weather is cooling down so time for some speed runs soon to see if she's got triple digits in her 👍👍. Removed the 1" Drive spacers, it may have helped a bit with speed but that gave it a porpoise and odd feeling when turning...

I'm glad you are enjoying your new boat. What drives do you have on it? If bravos unfortunately you will be blowing more of them. Ask me how I know. I enjoyed mine again this year and did some poker runs with it. Might be doing the Alexandria Bay poker run this weekend as well. What motors do you have?

Built 500EFI's with Whipples. Yes, XR Uppers. Drive guardians. Wags top caps. IMCO -0 Lowers. The gears didn't go. I believe what started it was the pinion bearing toasted itself first sending metal everywhere, then the clutch welded itself to the driven gear ..... It was stuck in forward.

That sucks. Mine are 500's with Vortechs. I am running SCX drives with Bravo labbed 5 blades. I keep toying with the idea of selling it ( I don't use it much) but then I run it and decide to keep it. lol

Something I would like to try someday is spinning the props in. See if she gains anything and also how it affects docking on this boat...

I did try spinning them in for an afternoon. It definitely made the boat feel "lighter" I can't say if and how much faster it was on top end, but the feel of it I could definitely see it being faster top end. It also doesn't behave as well around the docks. Its does not "react" as quickly with them turning in. I hear if you raise the drives some etc.. it gets better around the docks, but I didn't play with it to find out. To me the trade off for a couple MPH's isn't worth the ride change.

I don't know if I would say loose, but it definitely felt "lighter". I didn't do any turns at speed with it as I was not familiar with it enough and I only ran it around for a little while. I would try it again though as I am curious to see the real "numbers" effect it has turning them in.
