You mean turning in?

Re: Hustler owner pics

yes turning in, my boat both motors spin the same way. is this normal? i should know the answer to this. one drive runs in reverse?

Rik 12-15-2004 09:46 PM

Re: Hustler owner pics

On the Black Cloud boat, the engines are counter rotating. You can tell by looking at the blowers and noticing the blower snout is on the opposite side of one another. All one has to do is rotate the blower snout 180 degrees and the blower will work for counter rotating.

Mine spin out. There suppose to be faster spinning in but less stable.

I figure on Black Cloud they tried the counter rotating engine to counter act the torque of the engines with the drives turning in.

I'm guessing. how close am I?? :D

Re: Hustler owner pics

unless they had the new style arneson 8's Strip, you had to counter rotate the engine to have counter rotating props.

Hustlers are real sweet boats, ive been inside of one, was wakeboarding with my friend behind his jetski and we saw a hustler near Portsmouth, Va and I went and talked to the guy and im pretty sure he had either twin or triple yahnamar (SP) deisel engines, and he showed me the interior and all it was awesome. He said he also had a place up and NY where he had a formula also!!

I told him to check out this site, anyone know him? He was a really nice guy.

so what ya getting next?

The kids (10, 10, and 8) and wife want to do more watersports and hit smaller lakes in the area. Looking at 262 Cobalt and the 256SSi Chaparral. Nothing will happen until we sell this one.

Oh no not the kids :D Just put a ski tow hook on the back, it would be fun to knee board behind it.

Rob, can hit 95-96 all day long, full fuel, half fuel doesn't seem to make a difference other than she fels a little lighter in the back end.Best we have seen late October 06 52 degress, average humidity has been 97.6 on the G.P.S. Best part is the fuel economy. Have'nt really noticed a difference from when they were regular 500 EFI's.

Thats some good #'s.I did notice on mine it does burn a little more gas , but my boost is high:eek: Have you broken any drives yet?

What props and gear ratio RPM ya running???

Rob:drink:

Re: Hustler owner pics

Rob, no breaks, spinning 15 1/2 " x 32 herings to 5700.Props were off Ken Bowens race 38ZR. I think they were massaged to hit top RPM on his 525 EFI's.I tried Soinc's ( aka S.K.) stock Herings. Spun them to 5200-5300.( gps 95.6 mph with S.K. in the boat)I don't mind the extra slip on Kenny's props, as a matter of fact I think they help at the drive end due to the extra slip.Gear ratio is 1:50. Best part, We can run all day at 4500 rpm's, good for 85 mph.

I would of thought you would be running a bigger prop?are they 5 or 6 blades?

I have 1.30 gears 4blades at 760 hp turned it 6000 at 97-99. at 848hp turned a 30 5800 101-102.

I bet the cat was fun!!!!!:evilb:

Looking for wind deflector

I just bought a '97 40 Fiore and I need to install some sort of windshield / deflector. Any ideas? The factory is not working with me at all and I am getting frustrated with them.
