Nascat, did you wind up going with the 1.5: 1 ratio? Mike flanigan said they're running a 1.39:1 ratio with 16.5x 35 5 blade herrings, and was on the limiter at 137 in the spectre. 725's vs 710's though (I think the 725's are a little more than 725 hp though )

Steve,

That is correct & I just posted that on my thread, post 110. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...y-upgrade.html

I heard the same results from their first time out run which is impressive. I believe they will throw a set of 37's on next both sizes you & I have discussed previously. My Spectre w/ 625's & Teague / Bravo's ran 121mph.

I'm figuring the new Spectre has 80+ more H.P. than mine so the rest will be decided by the setup, overall boat / hull design (including weight) & of course who's behind the wheel.

Peter has rounded up all those props & more, I believe as many as 8 sets from different manufacturers.

My Skater ran 137mph w/ 1.34 IMCO SC's previously so I'm very curious to see whether I lose any, remain the same or gain.

Is the Spectre spinning in or out?

PS- if my boat isn't as fast then I'm defaulting to most views & posts LOL!!!

The props that where tested on the new Spectre SC32 are 36 pitch. I will take some more pic's over the weekend.

Ha Ha! Let's just hope he doesn't run over JBS's canopy, barrel roll and keep going! (again)

Tim,

Here's the PM I got from Mike, he states 35's as well. Not disputing just stating what was stated to me!

We finally ran the 32 Spectre with Ilmor 725's and Indy Drives. Boat ran great! New drives handled awesome.
On a lake here, 97 degrees with extreme high humidity with feel like tempature of 112 degrees, boat ran 137 mph on the rev limiter at (6300 RPM). Props spinning in, 16.5 35P 5 blade Herings with 18 degree rake, 4 people in the boat. We ran out of room on the lake and prop. Boat will easily top 140 mph. That was the very first time to the water, no dial in.

First of all Cashbar....it was 'just a roll', JBS got in the way. Moral of the story, no one got hurt, Teague and I still finished the race and got our points...rubin's racin!

Tim/OCM...no worries....i don't plan on going swimming. Once was enough for me. The roll was ALL Teagues fault anyways, he didnt slow down! Just kididng.

Tim may be right, they are his props, the box was marked 35's and i could not find a size on the prop. The box was marked 16.8 x 35 , 5blade with 18 degree rake???? Props spinning in!

Stainless, if you rolled the boat you probably would have gotten see sick....i think i remember you pucking threw the helmet a few times during some races. Hahaha....

We are running the 1.39:1 ratio.

Yep as is the DCB & Eliminator. Sometimes you have to dare to be different so like I said I'll be a hero or a zero!

I don't believe anyone has run the 1.50's in a cat & then switched to 1.39's they just went 1.39's to start with. Since Ilmor & Skater are a mere 2hrs apart I don't think it's a big deal should the 1.39's be the way to go.

My understanding is the 1.50's will allow you to swing more pitch in the range of 37's - 40's whereas 1.39's would swing 35's to 37's.
