All I can say is call as many companies as possible. I recieved quotes from $650 all the way to $2800 for the same insurance for my Fountain. It pays to spend some time on the phone or computer.

The gulf coast is tough for insurance right now. I was ready to pull the trigger on a 32 Fountain but couldn't find insurance for less than $3300. Who'd you sell the boat to?

That's a lot of money!!!U are almost better off just carrying liability... u have to have a total loss to make it justifiable...u can have a lot of damage fixed before u come close to paying for the coverage...we get it here under our homeowner policies for less than a grand a year...we make up for it in high taxes though...I sold it to Jessie from assured floors...he got a great deal

Tried that. Since State Farm won't cover the boat, an umbrella policy through them won't cover anything to do with the boat. Wasn't gonna go with no insurance but I did get one reasonable quote but they would only go up to 100K on liability. I just can't bring myself to take that risk.
