Default Somebody please help!!!!

I have narrowed my search down to a couple different boats only to find out that there aren't any insurance comp. writing new policies for people that are within 50 or so miles from the coast!!!! WTF????!!!! This is bullchit!!! I really need someones assistance with this. I know hurricane Katrina caused alot of loses for the insurance companies but look at all the years they were getting paid without having to pay out such huge claims. I will say this, If another hurricane even close to Katrina strength comes within 100 miles of my house I am going to hook the boat up to the truck and roll out. I am going to be seriously pizzed off if I can't get a boat because the insurance companies are dictating our lives......

Shawn I appreciate you trying to help me. Please don't give up on the search until we can work something out.

Just call Elton Porter's in houston. Sy is another source. In the end, there's only a few insurers and all the known agents work with them.

Thanks guys. I got a quote from Worldwide Marine Underwriters and I am waiting on a call back from Elton Porter. Tried Sy with no luck. Apparently I live "to close" to the coast for most companies.....

I did manage to get a quote that was a fair price today. After about 20 phone calls and 5 or 6 applications I got a real nice qoute with Worldwide Marine. Thanks guys for all the help and insight in this matter. Now if I could just get my hands on a boat my plan will be complete!!!
