Where to go for insurance
Im only 22 and would want to insure a 27 fountain fever with a 500efi in it. Does anyone know of anyone who would insure me on that boat? I tried markel but they want to write it through progressive and i have heard bad things about progressive. Any suggestions?

You could try Elton Porter and Sy Goldberg. Other than that, your best course of action is to get older.
Your problem is that regardless if you're the most atypical 22-year-old on the planet, the rest of them have spoiled it for you. I cringe at the thought of the average 22-year-old at the wheel of an 80mph boat. Hopefully you're not that guy.

Im not your average 22 year old. I've been boating my entire life. I've been driving my fathers boats with him for the past 6 years. Ive driven 26' sutphen with twin 250 johnsons on it. His 30ft formula with twin 502's. Any now his 2005 353 fastec with twin 525's. So since i was 16 i've been driving. So i've driven a variety of boats and know how to drive them. I've taken a safety coarse and have my boating license(mandatory in NH). Im not one to go out there and Speed around and cause problems. I like to cruise and enjoy what im doing not see who can cross the lake the fastest.

Markel is its own company, they will not place business with another carrier. In fact, Markel has a really good program for boats your size.

Depending on your specifics, Progressive is a really good carrier, they are rated A+ by AM Best. The wife has been in insurance for 13 years and those were her words. What do I know, I sell trucks. They may get a bad rap because they do write drivers with a not so good driving record, but they can back themselves up.
