That means they don't let the shop bend them over. Our Insurance rates are high on cars and boats due to alot (not all) of shops taking advantage of the Ins. companies.

They've done a great job of marketing to say the least. They've got the consumer thinking their rates are the lowest (they're not), their claim service is great (ask any body shop or glazier about that) and they brag about 24/7 customer service. I ask you...do you want to deal with a "call center"?
Only recently do I see State Farm and Liberty Mutual commercials going after them. The insurance industry has really left the door open to GEICO and continues to do so by not educating the consumer about true quality insurance at a low cost. By the way, they don't insure boats. GEICO owns an insurance agency called "Insurance Councelors" that writes the boat insurance with other carriers.
Buy your boat insurance from an insurance agent that specializes in it and you won't get hurt.

not the case...the biggest issue is when your fender or bumper on your Mercedes needs to be replaced the start looking for used parts at salvage yards, then they go to aftermarket parts houses (usually parts made in Korea) then if that doesnt work they will contact the body shop and see if in fact the part cant be repaired. OEM parts and the absolute last choice. AND THIS IS NOT HEAR SAY THIS IS FACT...I WENT THROUGHT IT !! If i were driving a 6,8,10 year old 100k mile car i wouldnt care. BUT NOT ON A 3 YEAR OLD BENZ !!

and all those TV adds. good service and word of mouth go futher than tv adds. AIG is all over the place and they SUX BIG TIME, I just might make some signs for my jeep tire cover AIG SCREWS THERE CUSTOMERS, and also on the boat if I ever get a new knee and back to work so I can race it will be over the boat

I got screwed by Geico as well. Switched to Allstate. Havent had an issue yet, and Allstate's rates were almost 600 bucks cheaper. Couldnt believe it. I wont get into the whole bodyshop thing.... but I will agree with berns29. He hit it perfectly.
