Over the years people have asked me where they could insure their boat after it went over the 130mph mark, I would always send them to Markel, however, Markel only writes up to a certain speed, I think the maximum is 145mph through the ultra performance program; however, I could be off on that. That is just what I have been told by my Markel underwriter. So, we now have a program for boats faster than that for risks in all states (including coastal).

As of today, we now officially have a carrier that is willing to write the extreme go fast boats (V-Hull and CAT Hull). DELETED
Here are some highlights of the policy:

- No maximum horsepower
- No maximum speed threshold
- Coverage available in ALL STATES INCLUDING FLORIDA*
- For both CAT and VHULL BOATS
- ACV only
- Windstorm coverage available
- RACE BOATS OK
- EACH RISK IS SUBJECT TO COMPANY AND UNDERWRITING APPROVAL.
- Age minimum of 24 depending upon experience.

Added 01/28/09: This program is for anyone with a boat that is capable of 100mph++++. Our rates are great and I encourage you to shop!!!!

If you have a boat that you need insurance on, please call me to discuss. Not every boat/operator is going to be considered acceptable. As always we can only write in states in which we hold a non resident license in., which is mostly all states with the exception of a few northern & eastern states (MT, ND, SD, ID,and VT).

Stacy.......Congratulations on your new program. Just to clarify, the maximum speed in Markel's Ultra Performance program is higher than 145 mph and is addressed on a risk by risk basis. From time to time, we receive calls from customers that do not qualify for the Ultra program and I will definitley refer them your way.

Just a reminder to those of you that fit into this program. This program is ONLY for people who can not get insurance in the "general markets" It is ideal for those who:

- Race their boats and need a policy that covers this activity
- Your boat is too old
- Your boat is too fast for normal programs
- You need hull only coverage
- You need liability only coverage
- You have a uniquely built boat that doesn't fit into the normal carrier's guidelines.
- You are buying your first CAT and are too young or the speed is too fast and no one will insure you.

I hope this helps clarify since many of you have contacted me about the program.

Before I advised you that this program was more on the costly side of the fence as far as premiums for the over 130mph boats. Well, we just revised rates and they have been lowered dramatically! Wooo hooo! So, those of you who have the 130+ that have requested quotes, I'll be sending you new rates. So, good news to those of you with the Extreme Go-Fasts
