Just to clarify, on my policy submisson forms it does not ask engine model but just prop shaft H.P. so stating the fact of the 1000 HP is correct and not miss leading, so how would there be an out ? If i was to take the insured value at lets say $185,000 and multiply it by .095 you are saying the rate would be $17,575 ? or would it need to be .0095 for a rate of $1,757.50 for the pilocy.
Thanks!

I am also an agent for Progressive and have tried to qoute numerous 33' Active Thunders with twin 525HP's through them. The result is always the same......"Declined because total horsepower can not exceed 750 on this model". You might want to check with your agent to ensure that you are covered in the event of a loss. I put all of my Active Thunder customers with American Modern or Markel. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call me.
Thanks!

laszlo, you are living dangerously IMHO. If I were you I would ask your agent to get you something in writing confirming Progressive is OK with your boat/motor combination. I'm betting that won't happen.
OH, and if I had 496's in my boat, I wouldn't have started this conversation now would I?

Sorry about that, but my post should have said both 33' and 37' Active Thunders. Progressive's maximum allowed HP for either one of these boats is 850. Again, I would highly recommend that you contact your agent just to make sure you are covered.
Thanks!

Rate would be configured as.... (keep in mind this is estimated based on a dummy quote I pulled on a 40 year old male. I do not know your personal info)
$185,000 x .095= 17575/100= $1757.50
or like you said... .0095

Also, I think the point that Macklin, David and I are all saying is "cover your backside". Both David and I are Progressive agents and we are both telling you it isn't allowed, we wouldn't lie to you and are just trying to help you out. Just make sure they are fully aware of the exact engines you have in your boat because in my opinion, it's going to cause you a world of hurt if you have a major claim.
I attached a pdf doc showing the screen shots in the rating system. Your boat does not qualify for Progressive. Here is an example of what David is saying on the Progressive rating... No boats with "OVER 850HP on this model"
Take a look.

I will call my agent today as well to verify the policy.
