Insurance Rate

We have a customer with a 28 outboard skater looking for quotes.

He wants to have insurance to attend poker runs. He owns the boat out right and has run it for the past 8 years. He also has over 20 years of cat experience and is a commercial pilot. Insurance would also only be for the boating season (less then 6 months in northeast).

Can you give us some idea of costs?

Thanks in advanced.

Tom. Tell him to try Progressive Insurance, I have my boat and Bob has his MTI through them.

You can have him call us. I can do that no problem.... I would need at least a value to give you an idea of costs using our carriers. Have your client call and we'll turn a quote around ASAP for him. Thanks! :)

I'm sure the other agents on the board will back me when I say this..... Progressive does not write CAT hull boats...
There are 2-3 carriers writing CAT insurance...

Boat value is in the 125k range and will tell him to contact you.

Ya Progressive wont even consider placing coverage on a cat hull...Plus their maximum acceptable speed is 75MPH...

We can look at this vessel also. Tell your buddy to give us a call or go online and request a quote or PM me. Our contact infomation is below. How old is the vessel?

Progressive

Top speed with progressive is 75 unless you have a 350 verado bolted to the kitchen table with a bass seat in the middle......then its OK at 90

Bob Christie's Boat

I hope Bob is not insured by PROGRESSIVE because they do not insure cats as was previously stated and the speed far exceeds their limits.I just saw that he repowered and that the boat is now capable of about 170 mph so it doesn't even fit the MARKEL fast cat program.I would suggest that BOB should take a good look at his insurance scenario and try to figure out if he even has any actual coverage.I hope that BOB gets some answers before he has a claim.
