I am guessing there is not such a thing , but can you insure a performance engine ? Coverage that would take care of some or all of the costs to fix/ replace the engine if it were to blow ?

Your guess is correct, at least on our side. The insurance companies we represent will not insure an engine by itself.

For a regular boat's engine... yes. There is product called mechanical breakdown insurance(MBI). Unfortunatley, there isn't a product like that for performance boat engines. The mechanical breakdown insurance we sell excludes performance boats....
