Thanks for asking. We're licensed in 46 states, IL is one of them.

IL is going to be within a hundred dollars (+/1) of it's neighboring states WI, MI etc. I just randomly chose some of the states around the country to post rates on. I think in the example I covered nearly every section of the country which was the intent. The purpose was to show that which your buddy in TX might have the exact same boat as you with the exact same power and you live in MI, rates will be different just simply based on your state and zip code.

I attached my personal license for viewing. Wake Zone's corporate license number is: 100340978

Hello, I live in Florida and I am in the market to buy a boat in Florida. Now what I have been told by the owner that he told me that he does not have boat Insurance on the boat at all. Then I asked the question on getting the sticker (registration) that goes on the side of the boat and what is the requirements to get the FL sticker, As he told me that I only need the Boat Title and go to the FL tax office to purchase the sticker. Now I will say this back in 1983-96 My father owned a boat in Florida and NEVER had boat insurance at all. This has me scratching my head should I get Insurance or not?

I hate when people say my friend has this insurance etc. You could have the same boat and even live in the same town. But people seem to forget about these factors when getting boat insurance. First off is your driving record, yes what you do in a car affects what you get for your boat. More factors are age, married, and CREDIT SCORE.

Can you afford a total cash loss of your boat if it is stolen, sunk or vandalized?
Can you afford to repair your boat and another boat if you should have an accident, cash out of pocket?
Can you afford to pay cash out of pocket for an injury that happens on your boat and the law suit to follow?
If you can afford to pay all these expences cash out of pocket then I would say that you can afford to pay for the insurance and not have the headaches due to any of the above mentioned accidents.
I would personally like to ask you to please insure your noat for your safty and mine.

PS, Sea tow is another worth while investment, but I assume that you can afford that fat towing charge if you happen to break down, or would you expect one of us safe and insured boaters to tie a line to you and haul you in?

Never had a insurance company pull a credit report before? This is something they must disclose if they do. Driving record. Married. Principal opperators. Age. Past claims. If you've ever had a ins policy canceled. Zip code. And amount of usage will effect $$$$$ rate.

I hate ins when I'm paying but love it when I need it.

Good points here. Insurance is one of the biggest rackets out there but you do need it. Here me out here
You need liability insurance because if somebody were to sue you they are going to sue you for much more than your boat is worth and just liability is not costly.
Now full coverage I would say depends on what kind of boat you have and how much it is worth. Boat is worth under 10 grand I would really look at getting full coverage. Chances are if you finance a boat they are going to require full coverage anyways. Lastly depends on where you are and what you use it for. If you are on a small lake with 4 other boats I would say dont waste your time.

Of our high performance markets... NONE of them pull credit, none pull an insurance score. Markel is the only performance carrier that I am aware of that is using credit scoring at this time....
