not trying to step on any toes here...... Foremost insures my 03 Velocity 260. While certainly not the same boats, they are aware the 260 runs into the 70s with stock power. Fairly inexpensive as well. I have them through a broker that handles my autos and home (through different insurance companies). You may want to check them out.

A 2000 Fountain shouldn't be an issue. That is a very easy boat to insure so long as you as an operator qualify for the programs.
If you're looking and trying to get your boat covered by homeowners type carriers, then that can be challenging. They don't like high performance boats. There are
4 carriers I can think of that would take your boat as long as you as an operator qualify.
American Reliable
American Modern
Markel American
Chartis
We write for 3 of the above carriers if you want to inquire about a quote..

You read my mind... that is why I was asking total HP of the engines. If it's low enough we can write a Foremost policy for him. Decent rate. Only problem is that Foremost can cut off at 25 years old... that might be the one thing that kicks Foremost out as an option.

Is your credit and driving record decent? I would think just about any mainstream company would insure that boat pretty easily. Im in your region, have more HP and have SF. Right at $500 per year for agreed value. I carry all my policies through SF.
