Default Whats up with ALLSTATE?

Long story short I needed boat insurance , my current provider would not cover my new boat, a friend who has the same boat recommended Allstate and several other Flatdeck owners also have Allstate.
I switch my cars, house, etc.. over since the rate is better but the whole reason I switched over was to have the boat covered. A week later a get a letter from Allstate saying they will not cover the boat due to its " age " ???

Whats going on? Seems so hard to get insurance on this boat, I don`t get it.

Allstate wouldn't cover my 38 Special due to the length. They said they no longer write over 35'.

Allstate is not a carrier for high performance boats. I hear your situation often with Allstate and State Farm. The issue is that the captive agent has binding authority in office. They bind your insurance, without knowing or reviewing company guidelines, issue you a binder and then you "think" all is good. Meanwhile, your application is being sent to the home office for processing and policy issuance. The underwriting at home office knows the guidelines and if your boat isn't within those guidelines, then you get the nice letter you got. My recommendation to you is to look to the agents that write performance boat insurance each and every day. This way, the coverage gets placed correctly the first time.

If you need/want help, shoot me over an email: [email protected]

I don't know any details on you, the boat or your location but I'd be happy to assist you or at minimum steer you in the right direction.

Allstate covers my 1988 Formula 311, it was a PITA, they needed a survey done. They even needed me to send pics of life jackets since they didn't see any in the pics from the survey. I'm not sure what you would consider a good rate but its covered I know that.

I've def had my own issues with Allstate, for some reason they want send me one bill for my 3 cars, house, and boat. So I have to make 3 seperate payments, so stupid.

When I started looking at 311's I called Allstate. They already serviced my 242ls and it was only a couple dollars more for the 89 311 I purchased.... They added the boat with no questions asked!!!! I am located in Chicago, my agents office is in park ridge IL, here is the number 847-384-9050...
