I vote Foremost. They have been trouble free for me. Although I am 40......... Had multiple claims on my Velocity and they kept rates very low and their claims service was top notch. The last claim I had, they didn't even send an adjuster. I wrecked a labbed prop and a lower unit. They just sent me a check to get it all fixed. I went with them on my new boat as well.

I had very little boating experience before I bought my 1999 Scarab 33' two years ago w/ twin Merc 500s. Progressive insured me no problem, even though I was only 26 and had 8 points on my license (all speeding tickets...). They won't do over 1000hp though, regardless of the year. I'm now with All State because they're cheaper, and didn't have a problem there either. If you're talking bigger power, I'd call Buzz at Total Dollar Marine. They can insure pretty much anything, and he's a great guy.

Farm Bureau dropped me just months after they agreed to insure my 1997 PowerQuest 380 Avenger. Been with them since I was 16, house, all vehicles, including a classic car and 2 previous boats insured for nearly 20yrs. Said the boat was too big and too much HP to insure (has stock 502's). After checking around, my agent said no one would insure without a survey and proof that I had 3 yrs of experience operating a 38' twin engine performance boat. Ended up going with Foremost. No survey or previous experience required. Rates excellent and great coverage.
