I had a small fire due to a header losing water, could of easily been fixed, insurance gave me a choice to total or fix. I chose total . I don't think they care how they get it when totalled. I stripped the outdrives, props, prochargers off motors, and the headers. Never heard a word about it. They didn't even want my brand new tri axel aluminum trailer. When adjuster came out he spent about 10 sec. looking at it. Good luck.
they payed you for a complete boat, you gave them a striped down hull = insurance fraud .. just saying

Lol I see the comments and understand both sides. But the whole reason I started this thread is i know I'm in for a hell of a task to get a insurance company, Which all are blood sucking company's and make their money on high rates low payout to give me fair value of my boat. And I'm sure I can kiss the fresh engines good buy along with the 1500 I spent to get engine hatch recovered. And if it's a low ball offer and they don't seem to want to work with me I'll be more than happy to take a chain saw cut out the damaged side of the boat which is what their paying for and strap it to the adjusters car and say here ya go buddy, Take that to your boss.

Don't go into this with such a bad attitude, when I had my fire I was sick to my stomach. Lots of money in the back end of my boat. I have great relationship wirh my agent and I was shocked how accommodating they were. You may be surprised, not all insurance companies are douches.

The assessor doesn't give a hoot how much his bosses lose in bonuses and how much they have to pay out on claims. He is paid to advise the claims department. Don't kiss up to him, that's pathetic but if you can smile and get along, he's more likely to be on your side. He may turn out to be your best friend helping to sort this mess.
It sounds old but it's still good......... "Treat others as you would like them to treat you."
Good luck.

Make sure you show the adjuster the receipts for the recent work. They should take them into consideration when figuring out the value if they write it off.. If you don`t agree with them get your insurance agent to get involved on your behalf. He is paid for selling you the policy and needs to work for you in resolving any issues. I deal with my clients and the adjusters all the time when things are not what the customer likes (part of being an insurance agent). Better for your agent to argue with them than you.
