The location is the problem....SE FL = year round boating, hurricanes etc.
OP didn't say whether it was blue motors or not but that knocks a bunch of the Geico/Progressive type carriers out (No motors over 500 HP). Speed can be an issue also if the boat goes over 75 mph.
Can't compare policies apples for apples if the location is 1500 miles away. 10 years ago I knew a guy with a 100 MPH 43 Sunsation paying less than I did for a 32 Sunsation with black motors! He was midwest, I was SE Florida.

Over 26 foot and older than 20 years, coverage other than liability is crazy.
$730/yr for 500k/1M liability, agreed value of 40k for boat and trailer pushed it to $3600 a year. not worth coving the boat itself, it’s just a toy
