This is who I use on my CiG. Everyone's quotes are going to vary a LOT based on a number of variables but that's a lot more than I pay...

Yep, $4,800 is about the going rate for good coverage, older boat but that's also above 1,000hp a side.

Of course, if you have a better alternative, by all means. Just sharing what I've found if you are truthful and don't lie to get past the underwriter / agent.

I wonder what happens when you really need insurance and they find out your "stock merc boat with 600hp a side" is a 2x 1,000hp custom build capable of 20mph over your stated top speed.....

I am not one that wants to find out the hard way.

Insurance companies are cheerfully willing to decline a claim for the dumbest reasons. If you blatantly lie about what it is that they are insuring, it's really easy for them.

There needs to be a law passed that every insurance company must offer policies for older boats just like cars and it should be comparable to a car of the same price as most of us only boat 5-6 months a year.

I suggest Grundy Worldwide...they take great care of us on the 1986 Superboat...they also insure the M3's we own...Check them out.

^^^ I have Grundy on my street rod, 32 Ford Coupe. Great company, I never even thought about asking about insurance on my boat!
