I thought that the program was, take out a huge boat loan and then not make payments and before the boat is repoed, remove anything and everything that is worth money and give the bank a near worthless hull and trailer. Being sure to sell the engines, drives and parts for cash. Gee, I wonder why boat loans are impossible to get? Doug

Really have enjoyed the thread. You guys have some really nice rides. Out of my price point, but nice to admire. I have an old 25' Talon race boat that I paid cash for and really enjoy running. This is my first cat and is still a blast to run. I'm still learning more and more about the handlnig each time out. Enjoy them! Bob

Bob-
Welcome to the forum!
The Talon has a great hull and history.
What kind of power are you running?
John

I am fortunate to get to ride in a 37 Talon enclosed cockpit cat. What a great ride and it is currently waiting for new power. That boat is in a different boating level, way out of my league. Doug

Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking for a couple of yrs and thought I would chime in. I had ported 260s' approx. 300 hp, when they ran they ran strong. Downgraded to 225 promaxes built by Diamond marine. They seem to pull as hard in the midrange, but probably top out at 100. Still playing with props, running 15x30 labbed spinellis' that I have only turned to 6200 due to engine height. Borrowed a set of 14.5 x30s', but haven't ran them yet. I have a cheap hand held Cobra GPS that works when it wants to and always seem to have 50 gal of fuel aboard. 94 mph is all I've seen so far turning 6200 rpms. I have been running in 2' lake chop which has been a blast to run in. I have realized that this hull doesn't like any positive trim. Hull seems to generate enough lift on it's own. Don't forsee ever being able to afford to feed big blocks but admire your rides.
I have a friend with a 32 Skater that ran 145 last weekend in 95* heat with flat water. It's a beast. I want a 32 with outboards or something around 30 feet.
Keep us posted on how your boats perform. I'm living vicariously through you guys. Bob
