Looking good!

Ok borrowed a 2" spacer today. We will try that out this weekend. I can also stack the 2 and 1 to make a 3" if necessary. Would just need to borrow the coller. So even if i space down a total of 3" my prop shaft would be even with the bottom of the boat. F.Y.I. thats how my eliminator was setup. I do hope the 2" does it, but i get a feeling i will end up with a 3" to put me where i need to be.

Which props (and diameter/pitch/rake) are you running?

bobsbillets 06-09-2010 08:50 AM

I have 36 pitch bravo 1 I borrowed from eliminator and I have 32 pitch 5 blade maximus that are mine. I like the 5 blade better because there is less vibration and has a little better cruise speed. It does make sense though since the slip is so high that the 5 blade would be better at this point in time. Boat planes out at 2500 rpm. It does it with ease with either 4 or 5 blade. Bravo 1 is 15 1/4 and maximus are 15 5/8 dia. All props are stock.

I wonder how a set of stand off box's would work in comparison to dropping your drives ?

Rob, The Jag sure looks good in the water. I can set you up with these 572's, the extra inches couldn't hurt. Nice winter project. Doug

Ccando....The problem right now is prop slip. With the 1" spacer and the 5 blade maximus I was still at 21% slip. Also the hull is still very wet with positive trim. I did notice at about 80 it is stating to free up a bit. I think I just need to get the drive height correct before i make any more changes.

bobsbillets 06-10-2010 03:25 PM

Doug, the bigger inches would definitely help. Let me know what you want for them and we can go from there. Yes, it would be a nice winter project. I remember riding in your boat and it seemed to wander a little bit at the cruising speeds. Mine did this as well, however since I started lowering the drive height I noticed that it is starting to go away. Also before the spacers I put the trim tabs about even with the bottom (number 4 on the gauge) and that made all that wondering go away as well. Just a lil info for you i found by experimenting with the trim tabs.
