6 mph is a stretch. He might squeek a couple more mph out of it with a super light load and a different prop, but 100 is probably out of reach.
94mph is a great speed Jay. What kind of power did you say that new motor dynoed at? must be at least high 600's.

you are correct 6mph is a stretch but he is in the ideal location for that boat to run a 100...it wont be the first one in that area to do it w that type of motor. your boat ran well over that with similar power as well it pretty much depends how important top speed is to him and if he wanted to dedicate the time to finding it. he maybe just as happy cruising at 70 and running 90 everyday, everyones different.

After reading the history of whats happened with that engine and having it break more than once, I'd look for a reliable full season or two out of it, rather than wailing the pizz out of it searching for an extra 1 or 2 mph.
A full summer and a few poker runs at 85 mph seems a lot more enjoyable and cheaper than 1 or 2 runs at 96 mph.
And we dont need any reason to have that anti yellow pri ck to have another reason to post.
Enjoy your boat ALL season bud!!!!!

Ya'll are funny. The engine's only pushing 650hp. I'm not so sure it'll see passed 96mph. Regardless, this time around we built the engine in terms of reliability. We're looking for an everyday 90mph boat with two people and a full tank, or 85mph full loaded. We might have a new owner by the end of the week.... ill be sad to see her go
