Kirk the builder of the Kryptonite used to work for John at Superboat...left and starting building his own.
Supermans (the super hero) 1 weakness = Kryptonite

hence the naming of the boats Kryptonite. I have a good friend that races a 30 Y2K and even he states that the Krypt's fly straighter, run faster, ride nicer etc...
