Boat is in great shape, going to replace batteries, impeller kit, etc.. and then hopefully take her out later today. Just different kind of boat, my PQ was "tall" out of the water, the sides of the boat were much bigger. I was happy to see it came with 380s and I have yet to see it in the daylight. He has a 9inch steering extension which helps when sitting down, I think I've sat down in my seat a total of 5 times in 3 yrs, a little uncomfortable while standing, so I'll get the 3" extension and I should be good to go. I'll update later tonight.

I looked through my mails trying to figure out which PQ you had, Im curious. Sounds like you are making it your "own" with tweaks and new pieces.

Yeah 380 K planes are the bomb.

I'm primarily a sit down guy, but I do mix both on marathon ocean runs .

My 29 was closed bow...best speeds I saw was 75mph...
Yours may not do that due to extra weight from "open bow".

There was a great Powerboat mag article 7 years back. They used a 29 Lavey with a 500 efi and they tested 6-8 different props and had all the data for it. It wasn't so much a article about the 29 Lavey but more for the new types of props available. The best they got out of the 29 was 76...cool article because I had the same exact setup.... they did the testing/work for me ...

I would call Lavey and see if the Maximus prop would work. That wasn't around when the article was written but maybe they have some insight on whether it works well with the 29.
