The used sportboat market from 2006 to 2015 really not much out there especially for 26 to 30 single apps. Yes you can find a bunch of 2004 and way back Baja's and even Checkmates (SINGLES) but possible some of these boats the lifecycles are coming to an end or the repairs does not warrant the cost for the app being older. That type of boater hopefully wants to step up and stay with what they like. Even used boats for sale up here listed was doubled 6 or 7 years ago compared to currently. IMO each year over year less used boats will be available in the market. Nothing great to chose from.

Taking a look at the wake boat market - hell some of those guys buy a new one every 2 to 5 years. The surf gate that Malibu came up with, there was owners trading in their 6 month to 5 year old wake boats to get this latest Malibu offering.

Most wake boats today are 80 to 175K to run around in calm waters only. Crazy how easy they sell those boats. The Malibu dealer alone in Dallas TX in bad drought conditions would sell 100 to 125 brand new Malibu's per year. We had 5 years of straight drought and they never sold less than a 100 new Malibu's year after year. One dealer only and in DROUGHT CONDITIONS. People will buy what the FAD is - it just so happens to be wake surfing. 12 years ago and back the fad was sportboats and poker runs. Hopefully it will comeback. Hopefully.

Possible once the outboard craze gets the catalyst system inwhich the price of those engines will rise in the thousands plus will take out the driveway mechanic for his own repairs - sales of those will decline that might have buyers looking back into the I/O market. Possible ???

I think the outboard craze will die off in a few years. They're getting ridiculously expensive and too much hp for the lower units, guys are breaking shafts and eating up gears in those 350 and 400s all the time. Its counter intuitive for some, but the most reliable performance boat setup is with an I/O. Most people view outboards as a holy grail of reliability. A single Merc 565 in the 29 Lavey would probably run mid 70s? You would need 2 400hp outboards to do the same thing.

I think what you guys are doing is awesome, parading that boat around to show it off. Lavey Crafts have always been phenomenal boats and the rest of the country needs a little west coast style.

No worries Dave, I wasn't there lol. I live in FL now. Seeing all the pictures and videos makes me really miss Havasu, been at least 3 years since I've been there. I'll get back there for desert storm one day though, actually contemplating it next year, I miss it that much.

The one thing that the Lavey 29 is different than all the others is that it's a BIG 29. 31'5 with the swim platform, John I would make 3 changes, I agree with Schweeng on the basic windshield, I would change the swim ladder to a hideaway fold down, and widen the doorway to the cabin. Those three things were the only complaints I ever had with my boat. If things go right for me in the next two years I'll be ordering a 32 with twins and those improvements mentioned above. John if you bring the new 29 our way let me know I'd like to get on it!

Yes sir already talked to Dave about the ladder as putting on a pull out 3 step telescoping mounted under the swim platform, and already talked to Chris about the windshield or as I call it, the bikini windshield / windscreen. IMO the cabin entry needs more height.

As with any boat you can find a neg or 2 but will say this about the Lavey's you surely CAN NOT complain about how they handle and drive especially in the rough.

And HELLO Bert - long time away, so how have you been.

Gotta be bigger than an 825 to be up over 100, especially with the open bow. But yes, that thing runs hard.
