Not a stich of ice on the main lake and very little in the back of most bays

Looks like a cold snap starting this weekend. Hopefully it will button up the lake for the carnival.

Ice usually moves out completely mid-April. Sometime earlier...sometimes later.

Lets hope so.

so you guys up there have had the mild weather too???? the arms on our lake were solid , ice fishing and all but the main lake never froze now the arms have thawed as well,

My bay glazed over again today. Its supposed to be cold for about a week so I expect most of the lake to go in the next several days...we shall see

Slush on Wednesday, Ice on Thursday Ice fishing on Saturday and Sunday. Those guys out there are nuts. Can a fish be worth the risk ??

I wont be out untill theres a good 6 inches

8-10" for me. That way when I get to a thin spot there will be atleast 3-4" under my fat azz

I went ice fishing once, not worth it when you fry them up they melt away to nothing :p

Doesn't the winter carnival start this weekend? Was a fairly mild week her in CT, prob not much different up there?
Was going to try to make the carnival if the conditions were right but I busted my bro's sled last weekend, so now I have to loan him mine. Sorry Pete.

I will call Land N Sea today to see if my sled is fixed.

I tried to check out the LG webcam today, but I can't find it anymore(???) I wouldn't imagine the lake is safe yet.

Bring Ice skates if you come, there isnt a bit of snow on the ice. Great skating though

Can I ask the Lake George crew to keep an eye out for any 27-30 ft boats that might be for sale up there. Have my eye on 29 Fountain, 29 Kryptonite, 30 Superboat, 30 Activator (mostly sit down, step bottom boats) with a 500 or 525. The 28 Pantera is also creeping up on my list, but would need more HP (then a 525) to get that thing up into the 80's like I want to be. I love Morgan's grey one, but its a little out of my price range I think. 80k is about as high as I could go. Thanks.

I see in another thread in the Cig section that he mentioned today that he still has the boat and the price is around 30k

On another note, I saw people on the ice yesterday. I think I even saw a shanty. The trails were suprisingly awesome. I rode 51 miles in 2 hours with 50% of those miles being on fresh groomer tracks including to the top of Prospect.

Honestly I did not know what to expect when I headed out on Sunday or else I would have made a ride of it with you guys. I was up in Speculator on Saturday. Got 2nd place in the poker run with the same hand I had for the LG boat run(quad 3's). That is 3 poker runs in a row with a 2nd place(Sacandaga, LG, Speculator). Maybe I should quit my job and become a professional poker-runner:cool-smiley-027:

Are the carnival events taking place on the lake this weekend? I would imagine it hasnt been cold enough to build good ice.
