We threw an old set of Gaffrig tips on it this summer to really keep him out of trouble but It really is very quiet. FullThrottle-Trust me, no you cant.

King Sting dominated that run. The boat will run an honest 170 with the boost turned up and the tips off. The motors were only making around 800 for that run and the tips were off. Is your buddy Bruce Miller?

Gladhe8er 03-04-2008 08:14 AM

That other Spectre with whippled 500's was in front of the KING when those two broke away from the pack on Sacandaga. I saw it on the video(obviously I was way back in teh pack when this was occuring). I guarantee KING wasn't close to WOT.

I do give that Spectre credit...it is a great running boat. As I said, I saw it ahead of the KING. Who knows how much power the KING was using that day. Maybe with all this internet banter we will see what it can really do this summer:cool-smiley-011:

Carguy08 03-04-2008 08:38 PM

My money is on the King.

TeamSaris 03-05-2008 09:09 AM

Im not suprised the Spectre was first to the card stops. Jim D. (King Sting) had never been on Sacandaga in his life. The water was low and he needed to follow someone to the stops. When he pushed the sticks down he went by every boat there. No questions asked. He told me he had to "work" to pass the James Gang boat. This year he wants the motors running to there full power potential.

Now this is what events like this are made of!!!!

Let the trash talk begin and the spectators get a great show!!!

Now, who is claiming the fastest V-Bottom there???

Gladhe8er 03-05-2008 03:20 PM

Oh boy, this is getting good. I'm contacting the trophy place right now to order the "King of Sacandaga" plaque. Maybe it will be enough of an incentive for everyone to throw the throttles down.

TeamSaris 03-05-2008 03:40 PM

Full-throt,lemme ask ya something.. how much HP is James Gang running? We have lots of experience with the 36 Spectre. We ran one to a nAtional Championship. Its a great boat no doubt, but its not as fast as a smaller, lighter Skater. Ive seen the video,Ive heard it from JimD., ive heard it from Bruce Miller, ive heard it from the 4 other people that were in KING Sting that day,ive heard it from the guys in the heli and all the stories are the same, they passed everyone.

Ha Fast Fun
Lets put some sanity back in to things. We did run out in front all day but on the way to the first card stop we had a good jump on King Sting and he got a little off course to the north. We were totally maxed out on that sprint and from what I could see it looked like he was catching us. My boat is dialed in real good, short drives, extended skegs, P5s, engines making over 750 each but its not a 160+ mph boat. All I can say is we had a great time it was a super group of people and beautiful boats. This year with my Sutphen we will be in the middle of the pac where I think its allot more fun. I'm currently trying to get together some more Sutphen guys to attend. See you guys on the 28th.

Great people, awsome boats and good times. Jim put it in a classy text, cause he is a classy guy, Im not... but Im working at it. Johnny your dads a icon on the lake, I am sure, some day... you will be building the boats to beat.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. As one guy above said it sure gets a good show going for the people watching from shore, and God knows we are all guilty of showing off a little bit. Those fancy paint jobs aren’t for nothing.
Jim

MahopacMarine 03-06-2008 09:05 AM

Hey Jim,

That was me. Trash talk is all good as long as no one takes it personally. It does work really good for an event to have a "duel" against some really well tuned and beautiful boats. I know I would rather watch than be in the middle of it though :D

Very classy post too BTW.

I look forward to these events regardless of who shows up in what boat.....didn't make the Sacandaga last year, but had a blast on the LG run in my 22 Scarab.

Mahopac, good pt, as long as no one takes this too seriously, no harm done....

I hope I find a boat of my own to do a little trash talkin' myself, but until then I'm on the sidelines.:(

Sounds Good. Weve done a lot of sound tests for people. If it doesnt pass,we can make it pass.

MahopacMarine 03-06-2008 02:31 PM

I can definitely help ya with the boat :D

Grab your helmet and get in the game :evilb:

we might be in the middle of the pack next run, but if I have learned anything from riding with James Gang, it won't be by choice. It will be WOT the whole way. just like every other boat ride we've ever been on!!!

If your not passing someone your going too slow
