No Cig,I hope your just having a bad day and are not serious.Fishing boats next to a Mag is like parking a Volksy next to a Porch.Give it a little time, take it back out and have some fun with it,you know you dont have to run 80 all the time to enjoy that Magnum. MEL

No Cig,glad to see you having some second thoughts about selling the Mag.Im going to ramble on about a few things about marine engines your engine shop may not know.first is camshaft,if your using a automotive ground on 108 or 110 cenmters with short risers on the exh. your going to get reversion if you idle any distancce.
Mercury found that out the hard way, with their 502 500 carb eng.wich was on 110 cnters and used aluminum manifolds.Changed a lot of them before they went to CMI exh.The first 540 i put together i used a 714x714 on 108 centers a good automotive grind but not a good choice for marine, unless you know what might happen and use the right exh.and tail pipes so your water exits as far from the manifold as possible.Up in Mich at least you have fresh water, down here you get reversion in salt water, you can just start over because it just bought the farm.Best of luck with that 540,,they can be a real -itch untell you get everything right,i got 2 of them 1 in Vixen and one on the floor with a hyd cam i havent tried in her yet. Mel
PS sorry about Porsche in my earlier post, didnt see it tell i posted.

Mike:
A fish boat is more your speed anyway. Maybe a 16' lund with a 40hp tiller. You can catch some silver bass in the spring.
I told you that I would take that water soaked heap off your hands $10000.00

Call me and we can set up a date. :D :drink: :D :drink:

I was figuring deprecation.
Paul , Greg and Greg,s son Jake just left. I may go to Joe's party tonight maybe I will see you there. I have still not seen that hot rod yet.
And no mine is not in yet. I just pulled the job from the interior guy. After 6 months I think it should have been done.

Mike:
The first year I owned my 35 I had to pull the motors a total of 12 times between the two. After the bugs were worked out it was 6 years or reliable boating.
The 38 I only had to pull one motor after rebuilding both.
It just takes one of everything to break or go wrong before you can get it right. Trust Me I was there, Dont give your hard work to someone else before you get a chance to enjoy it. Stick it out, put it away and come back to it.

i probably should not ***** i took a boat that was out of the water since 96 and have run the piss out of it............showing 79 hours and have been reverting water little but little all summer...........
scott at speed and custom marine is working on my tail pipes now hopefully i will have them in 8_10 days my motor will be back together tommorrow............hopefully i see ya later i am tired of typing.................

Re: mag for trade

Gen IIIs are great exhaust. I switched from Stellings headers and got more torque and power. i also don't worry about leaks anymore. If you have a big cam, definitely watch out for water entering the pipes from behind the transom. Those pipes usually exit pretty close to the water when idling or sitting. Be careful with following seas or powering down and you should be good to go. Enjoy the boat; don't give up. You've spent a lot of hard hours on that boat; I know what its like. Sometimes we just want to say "No More!" Give it another chance. Post some pics.

No cig- I know what goes through your mind when you break something. I've been there with many toys. Work through it.... although it can be costly you are learn about a hobie you love. I was depressed when I broke my drive after working so long on the Pantera., but it all goes away when your running through big water. I also like fishing, but the rush aint the same :D
