I contacted the "owner" of this boat last week, he knew very little about this boat-other than it is just a hull. He stated it was a 26', (anyone who knows Magnums or has a tape measure knows it is a 27') Red flag #1. I asked him if he has a clear title. he responds "No" Red flag # 2. He claims the paperwork is on its way from the state, and he would forward it to me after I purchased the boat. Red Flag #3. I explained that I wanted to look at it next week on my way to the races in Patchouge, he tells me he's received alot of calls on this boat, it may not be here next week-yea right... I look on Craigs list today and find the ad deleted. I also find a post from someonewho posted: 26' Magnum boat listed, number researched by SCPD are from a 14' alum boat registered in upstate NY. BEWARE! BEWARE!! red flag #4
Just for your info!!!

Pretty sure the boat in the photos is a Magnum (not an Aero) judging by the deck hardware........but the whole deal does sound shady now doesn't it?......

Too good to be true.......oh well.

Just to put an end to this, the guy knew what it was but did not really care since he was more concerned about his other project boat. He also did not want to make any claims about the hull that where not true so he just said here is this hull come make you own mind up about it. He had clear ownership of the boat and paperworkto back it up. He did recieve alot of calls and it did go quick. It's sitting in my barn now waiting for some much needed TLC. I'm not sure about the 14' aluminum boat, but like I said I have proper paperwork.

So, on to something more important, now that I have it, what should I do with it? The hull is solid, the decks are shot. I'm thinking outboards for power. I only know of one other 27 with outboard power and I do not know how it ran. Maybe some of you more experianced Magnum guys can tell me if I am crazy or not.

Thanks,

Joe
