Default Transmission fluid

Does anyone know what type of fluid I should use in my transmission the dip stick just reads standard automatic fluid. I guess there borg warner??? 1974 Maltese. I TRS drives.

Type F.........for Velvet Drive....not sure about Merc. Trans.

We have used in the merc trans, or the BW trans, DEXRON-lll MERCON ATF, that you can buy at any auto parts store.

I agree, sont use that b&m quick shift. Type F has a higher coefficient of friction which is perfect for our application

FORD F A

Buddy of mine went from 500's to 588's pushing 950 hp. each.
Tranny started slipping, called Huber about rebuilding them and up grading them.

Huber said with michigan summers so short and him being so busy he hated to see him pull them out and lose the rest of the summer.

Shared a secret that might get him through the rest of the summer. Said to use ( Ford F A ) transmission fluid.

That was three years ago and they still haven't been rebuilt. Guess it works
