Default Racing Picts

Seeing nothing going on since 3-08 on here i thought id show some racing picts i took yesterday.
I stood and took about a 100 picts of these boats racing to get about 20 that were any good, what fun to try and stop somthing thats going past at 60-80mph. just getting it in the view finder is bad enough. This V bottum looked and run so much like a Magnum i thought this is ware it should be.Ol Roger Munn told me one time when i was b----ing about not getting the speed i thought i should,Mel get that nose up and let it run on the last 4ft or it will never move, anyway thats just the way this little V bottum run.

h2o, didnt mean to tease you guys about the weather down here, coming from the So.Bend area i know by the time the middle of march rolls around you start to think its never going to end.I stopped to watch these guys run these little boat a few times over the last couple months and always liked the little v bottom because it looked and run so much like a Mag.Its not as fast as the hydros or the cats and sure cant corner as well but sure looks like a Mag when it goes past at 60mph.Most of the picts are about half a block away, when they come right past in front of me i couldnt even get the focus set before they were gone.

Nocig, thats the Phantom i got hurt in in the last practice in 04 that finished any hope of my racing again.I sold the boat to my soninlaw dave howard in 05 and he raced it in 2 races in Marathon with his brother driving an him on the throttles with the 502 we had run in Vixen, but found out even thou they could run 70 wide open it took too longe to get there. After the second Marathon race i loaned him my new 540 i had just finished for the Sarr. race after we had it in and my wife was gone for the day we took it out and tested it,an man nobody was going to run away from them again coming out of the corners. That was Daves brother driving and as you can see nobody thought to see if he fit the seat or not,Dave owned the boat an the team all i did was supply the engs. an drives to help them get started an save some money thier first year. That was thier first and last rough water race in the phantom, his brother was laid up for a week before he could get around again an decided he had enough of that kind of fun.Dave told me he had the tabs and drive all the way down just to keep a handle on it,so i dont think they ever got over 60 on the straight away,i know he told me he had plenty throttle left.Glad you enjoyed it and it can give you an idea what its like when it gets rough out there. When i got my eng. back i tore it down to check it out, after hearing that film i think it hit 10,000rpms a few times when he missed pulling the throttle back when they come clean out of the water.Couldnt find one thing wrong so i guess them 540s aint to bad an eng.
