Hey Bill,

I met you at the reunion at Jack's.
I have a bunch of pics from the gathering.
I'm sending a CD to Mark today. There are a few shots of your boat.
Which is really really nice by the way!

Default Sick of thread ?

24 Degrees, never sick of hearing about Magnums.Just to keep this going I had Vixen out twice since I changed to my milder 540.The first time I went with a 26 Br 1 prop an kept a little tab down on her an got 80gps wide open.Last wk I went with a 28 Br 1 an no tabs down an got 82gps at 5700 rpm.Real happy with this eng.you can cruise at 60 at a little over 4300 all day if you want on 91 octane and not worry about it and not have to fight it at the dock like the mechanical cam eng.I don't think i'm going to put the other one back in again,no more then i'm going to push to 80 again. The first time out I had a fish an game boat out there and I knew if I got in trouble I could get some help but last wk.I was alone and afterwards I thought you old fool you know what can happen real quick, was not a good idea.I just about have her all set up for a pleasure boat now so looking forward to using her again, and Jeff next time your down maybe we can get some better weather. Mel

Mel,
You're still running that thing at 80? You're a bad ass for sure!

I'll give you a heads up next time I'm down. It will have to get pretty cold up here first.

Default Bad a$$

Dumb maybe but not bad a$$.Built this eng way back in 03 just to see how it would compare to the 502 we were racing with in P5.The first 540 I put together was a hard luck eng.and no matter what i did somthing stupid would happen, just like the day we had it out.We run the 03 season with the 502 because you couldn't break it an we could get 72 gps on top end an that was all we needed.
So after 4 years it got put in.The idea was to go back to P4 in 04 again but by the end of 03 i was just plain burnd out an we had won everything we wanted so i decided to call it.The only reason i pushed it the other day was to find out if it would have done it or not.I think with the 26 prop it would still be competetive at least in P5 and P4 on smooth water. We did run a couple races in 04 in the phantom but things had changed an to me the fun was gone.
