I wish there was a way to know for sure. I got the Transport Canada boat registration in the mail today, and the HIN was registered as CRTHIN7001M83E. I would have thought that they would validate the number, but perhaps not.

It would be interesting to run a boat check on the CRT and MAG registration. This might show if there have been any insurance claims.."cough"...theft..sinking. If your going to fraud someone why not start with the insurance company, I'd speculate the pay off on a cig would be greater than a mag. The obvious flaw is the character of the previous owner, sad that people will pull this, it's a lot easier to make an honest buck.

Thanks. It does not bother me that it is not a real Cigarette, I bought it to have a fast boat, and I got a good price at the auction. If I had paid a premium for the name, I would be upset. As it is, I am just curious about the history.
