to see boats in the process of restoration ,and ones that have been sold. The Magnum Maltese with the great graphics is due back with a new dash and all new wiring next week.It then will receive a new interior, floor etc to get it ready for sale. The other racing Maltese 1974 is still in the paint shop and don't think I will be able to get it back together before the end of the year. We will up date the process when we have new photos to show. All of the boats are for sale now or during the restoration process.depending on how much you want to due. Thanks again to all of my Magnum friends on all of your help in attempting to research the various boats. Mr. V,
Great website!! I hope you open it up to anyone restoring Magnums. I know two of us in NJ who are doing 27 Sport restorations. I also owned, but sold, Aronow's # 4 "Maltese Magnum", which is also being restored. I think this website will be an inspiration to all of us who are in various levels of restorations!!

Let me check on how that can be done, you should be able to e-mail info on the boat and some pictures and then they can be posted.
On the sports, the Maltese is the same boat only difference is the deck is rounded providing more cabin room.I do know of two Sports that been sitting for a long time, owners want $30,000-$35,000 one is red & white and the other is blue...call me if interested 312-607-3115. I will have to dig for the photos, Bud

hey bud, just got started on my 73 25 sport. i was just wondering if you could give me a little backround knowledge on the flooring in these boats. is it reinforced wood with glass or is it straight glass? i havent started to cut it up yet but am going to this evening most likely, thought id shoot you a message and ask. i know the gunals are cored with wood and it has to come out and coosa board put back in, but if i didnt have to cut the entire floor out to lower it a little id rather do that. were gonna cut the bow off and make it all flat deck up front, but keep the walking rail completely around the boat. just though id ask since you have yours that your working on

The cockpit floor is glass over wood, the cabin liner is just glass.I would not cut the floor and try to lower it,I think you will run into more problems than you want.On cutting the deck and leaving a walk around...how are you going to support it ??? Bud

worse comes to worse we are going to support the boat from relaxing, and cut the guts out of it. if there is under the floor then it needs to come out, therefore meaning there will be a little extra chainsawing. personally im more of a fan of a stringer system with bulkheads spaced here and there... from what ive seen so far in this project this boat has been neglected for a while. i pulled all the wood out of the transom last night like it was balsa wood. so i would be safe to assume the wood under the cockpit is the same thing...what do you think would be wrong with taking the entire floor grid out and replacing it with stringers and bulkheads and just laying coosa board and glass over it and tieing it back into the rest of the boat with layers of glass?

Pull up the cockpit floor hatch so you can access the gas tank and you will get a little better idea of what your dealing with. I have never pulled the floor on a 25 so I don't know what you are in for.Up front in the cabin that should not be a problem. why not use the seating and fill in the walk way to make a great fishing deck. The deck was cored, did not think the transom was??? Bud

the fuel tank is out, it was no good so its in 4 pieces out back. . im not sure if the transom was redone maybe, i mean it doesnt look like it, however someone who knows how to do fiberglass may have faded it in after redoing it. the transom was 3 pieces of playwood snadwiched together with glass over top of it. i am taking pictures as we go, so if you would like to see just leave me your email and il let you in on the dirty secrets of my ragged out pos lol. our game plan as of right now is to lower the floor around 2 inches or so to give us more freeboard for our center console idea. as for up front... right about where the bulkhead is where it seperates the v-berth from the cockpit we are going to make a step that is high enough to allow ample walking room to reach the front cleats. we dont wanna raise the deck more then we have to up front, but we want the maximum walking room that the rise allows us without going to high. our theory is that all thenew conter consoles are nice and spiffy looking, but when a boat is doing 60- 65, id rather be sitting inside the boat, not on top of it. and boat builders anymore design their gunals to only come up to a persons knees, at the highest. drop me your email and i will send you some pics of the 22 searay sundancer we cut into a center console, and also some of the magnum and where we stand. hope to hear from you soon. i still have your number, il hafta get in touch with you one day soon and we can bull**** about magnums for a little.
