Does anyone know any info about this particular boat. I called the salesman and he was about a know nothing peckerhead. Out of 3 questions I asked him about the power package and drive he didn't no the answer to any. If anyone has seen or has run this boat I am curious as to how she performed. That's a lot of motor in that boat and I would like to know how it handled and how she cruised and ran woa. If anyone can help me that would be very helpful

I had a 25 Sport that I ran a 500 HP in for over 10 years. It handled the the power quite well. It is a very heavy hull for it's size. Depending on the load, water conditions and prop I could get it very close to to 70

Hey boatnuts, thanks for your input on that. My dad and I are just getting into working on our 73 25 sport and were up in the air with our power choice. We bought a 502 mag, complete motor and power package with dual hydraulic steering and both a bravo 1 and 3 and were dead set on supercharging it and going with that. But recently we have been considering buying two new outboards, but the price has pushed us back to the 502 we already have. The hull is a great hull and we just wanted to make sure that the boat will handle that motor weight and will handle well. Do u have any pictures of your boat sitting in the water or running? Any other input would be helpful thanx for your time

My 25 had twin 302's with Volvo 270 drives on it when I got it. It sat very low in the water at the back and in general I did not like the way it handled. Very a$$ heavy. The single big block sat over 4" higher in the water. I was always pleased with the single set up. It manouvred very well at all speeds and was very stable. About the only drawback I encountered was I mounted the drive at X + 1-5/8 and the power trim had difficulty lifting the bow at at 2500-3300 RPM. The front cuddy area is quite heavy. Above that RPM there was no problem. In all honesty, the natural attitude of the boat in the 20-35 MPH range is good without playnig with the trim. We cruised at 2800 RPM (32 MPH) and got great fuel mileage. 3500 RPM was over 40 MPH. At higher speeds you could put quite a bit of trim to it before it started feeling quite light. Thta boat went to Washington, DC in the spring of 2009 and now resides on the river a couple mile south of the capital. Hope that helps.

thank you for this info this will help greatly as we are getting deep into this project. i have gutted the entire boat down to a bare hull with just the stringers left in it. we are going to rebuild it as a center console. So hopefully taking all this weight out of it will help lighten it up a good bit and make it faster. The front cuddy will be a sitting area for people instead of a step down into the cabin now with storage hatches into the floor. its going to an interesting beast but for us a go fast center console that can accomodate 12 people will be more practical then what the boat used to be. il email you some pix later tonight. shes an ugly beast without the dressup on lol. glad i bought stock in 36 grit grinding disk today cause this boat is eating um up wight now!
