As part of the rebuild of my 1971 Magnum 27 sport I need to replace the seat base shock absorbers which are marked as Gabriel 18505. Gabriel say these were custom made back then and are no longer in production. Has anyone fitted modern replacements lately.If so could you please give me a manufactures name and part number please. Can you please post some picks. Would be cool to put these or something like this on other boats if the floor ever needs replacing.

My Cig had the same style seats, I believe a Monroe from a John deer tractor seat was exactly the same size... I'll see if I can get a part number off of them without taking the seat base apart.

I replaced mine last year in my 1976 sport. Here is the info. off the label. Bostrom damper kit part # 6031180 002. They ae not exactly the same as the Gabriel but they work great!

Many thanks to the Guys who responded. I am here in Florida this week on vacation so I want to buy the parts now to take home with me. I will post some pictures as requested when I return home later this month.
