So I feel confident, 280s are wider than the set I bought, atleast from the pics and a visual comparison . .these taper front to back on both sides . .
So my next question, flat with water line or angled like the bottom?
The old tabs on this boat were flush with the bottom, but newer installations show them raised a bit . . why?

Now you will, be getting a few different answers
Mine were on the angle of the hull bottom, approx. 1/2 inch above the bottom of the hull.
Many folks place them flat across transom
Mine were raised so they would not have any drag in the water when they were straight flat.
On the K280s, the taper was only on the one edge of the tab plate. so there was a port and starboard tab.
Parnell,
Sorry about them stripping off everything on you. all of that was there at one time, Hynautic steering, Tabs , power trim set up, racing motor mounts, two man and new 3 man racing bolsters with drop seats from Biltrite.
thank you

Tabs flat to the water line are mounted for more stability with stepped bottom hulls, as seen on many new Fountain boats. The old school way still works for me on Magnum type hulls.
