Default Restore HIN #'s

How hard would it be to restore the "pressed HIN #'s in the upper corner of the transom?.............there all but gone since I did work back there. I thought of just sanding it away before painting the transom. Then I thought, replace with a SS tag.......I was thinking also to emboss a plate with the HIN #'s & PVA it into fresh deck putty........Like stamping a new Hin...........

Bud,

that's an exceptional HIN tag on your 29.9.......wish mine was that good.........I also agree about the add on tag it's a no , no.......Came up with a solution today, my printing press buddy is embossing the same "punch" in block lettering to restore the Hin #'s .............................Legal forgery??

There are plenty of let's say 'ex-industry' folks who are GREAT at restamping old and new HINs.

I'm sure it could be done.

Took me a couple of weeks, but I finally picked up a couple of numbered print plates (two sizes to choose from) to re-stamp HIN#'s in the transom............I'll give it a go soon.

Bud not sure of the actual process. I picked out what I thought would be the closest type of block lettering to match the HIN #'s.......................the printer spaced the lettering I choose and put it on a print plate...........presto!...........I have my HIN stamp.
