I think all the deck hardware including the vent dome look cool on the 27 sport....Bud, did the dome swivel or was it stationary?

It only swiveled if you unscrewed it and turned it.

I believe they were standard equipment on sports. Over the years the plastic would turn yellow & crack, many would then paint them the color of the deck insert. Many just replaced them with a Bomar hatch like on the deck of my sport. A few years ago Jeff found a new one in a local Lake St Clair boat parts store for his sport.

Thank you. Probably that is the reason they are hard to spot on the pics. Speaking of the deck insert, what is that good for?

Inserts are good for looks. Most sports pre 1976 had the wood look after that they went with the colored inserts. The insert is a easy way to tell a real Mag sport from a copy.

Default Air Hatch

The old style air intake is stationary, however there are two wings that close which make it air and water tight. Will post a picture of the prototype. Bud

Bud,
Some of my other projects are finally getting finished. Then it will be time to start on the Mag. if you reproduce the bubble vent put me down for 1. And if you talk to the guys at Magnum see if that dash pod for the Maltese is still available.
Thanks,
Tom
