Good question. I had not noticed that; so not the greatest pic. It's another member's boat, a Hustler 388.
I am guessing he may have not like having the winch cinched tight for transport; and that's not a bad idea.
I also set mine up with twin ratchet straps, but they have are angled aft to keep the boat from sliding forward.

When I winch my boat the last few feet onto the trailer; I'll pull up and onto flat ground, and release the tension on the winch. I'll then wind it back to snug tension, where I can move the cable a 1/4" or so with my hand. Those are 10K lbs. straps.

With the winch forward, and up high:
1: I don't have to get too wet, if at all when winching up.
2: It's lifting the boat as it tugs forward when winching on the last few feet.

I have used south fl trailers in the past with good luck. I worked for a man who bought a few new nextral and we needed to stiffen the i beam with supports. this could be a issue that the co has since solved. best of luck and show us how you make out!

I have a Continental aluminum tandem axle trailer under my sport that it came with. I towed it back from Florida to Michigan & it towed great even with it not having any brakes.

wow, I never figured this thread would have this participation! Thank you all . .

so from all that I've gathered here I'll try to get some material dimensions of the main spars on the trailer . . . and will gather some other details from the manufacturers . .and share it all here.

Mario - The Nextrail is good but it has strait crossmembers that are ubolted to the frame. The loadrite has crossmembers are bent so the boat sits lower which is better for shallow water launching etc. They have flange bolts that go through the center section of the ibeam frame, also stronger. The bunks mount on the bent crossmembers very close to the hull bottom angle. The axels mount in a track on the frame which makes adjustment really easy and I got 4 wheel disc brakes which is nice after having none for years. I can go on...
