Hey, I finally got my back issue of HotBoat. Great to see another old Magnum in action and the finished pics you sent me really look nice.
My shop should go up this spring, so I'll have someplace to work on mine. Right now, she's outside in the cold with the cover on

Hey Scott ..
We have'nt heard from you for a while,I just said to Andrew last week that you're probably snowbound and are anxious to get started again.Hope you got a kick out of the HOTBOAT article.I was a bit disappointed with how the text came out and that there was no COLOUR shots of the finished product but was it ready for the dump or what ?
We've had it up since Oct 18th '02 .Wanted to get rid of the old Merc cast iron junk exh manifolds.I think that if we had'nt of done it when we did the motor would have self destructed a week or so after re-launch... you should have seen them
Doing MORE fine tuning and perfecting
while its up and then just finish off the bottom and a little wax.Anxiously look forward to seeing what difference the improvements make (if any).Have a spiffy new set of stainless exh manifolds (actually an Australian product)TCM billet breather and fuel press regulator this has all cost a bomb but I know that Andrew can't wait to re-imburse my half
!
Keep us up with progress.I look forward to what you are doing, you see how we tried to keep ours as simple as possible !

The article was great. I've probably read it 20 times, yeah the writing is weak and no color, but what an inspiration. Thanks a bunch!
My shop building is going up in March/April, so I should be able to get a good start on it in a few months. The main plan is to put the beast on a diet and keep it simple. Nothing fancy, just good old basics and lots of horsepower. I'll probably try to find a used HP500 or 502/540. Looking for 500hp or so with low compression and high reliability. I'll be updating the website as the project progresses. Your pics will go up at some point, just been real busy lately getting our horse barn finished.
