Yeah if I could get a refund on boating dollars spent over 25 years my wife would have her home on the Intracoastal in S.E. Fla. She could take the water taxi and be happy, but to me the enjoyment of boating is priceless...

Yeah I was really looking forward to the recent Miami Vice movie re-make. Could have used more "go-fast" action. But the original is still the best and Don Johnson proved he could walk the walk in real-life races...

My Dad forced us to go fishing with him, even on some school days and I hated(still do) it.

I told him boats were made to go fast from bar-2-bar. He laughed and said I'd change when I got older. He just shakes his head now and brings that up occasionally. He got on my Cig the first time and asked where the rod-holders were. I told him to get off. :D

I was in my twenties when Miami Vice was popular. It stuck with me so much that later in life I purchased a Scarab and a Testarossa. It's been a fun ride ride... land and water. Don was the the coolest of the cool.

Cash Bar, I think fishing is an excused absence from school because your Dad could honestly tell them you were "playing hooky". Ironic part is that Cigarette and others make some pretty fast center consoles for the impatient fishermen...

GK, Glad to see your reality lived up to your fantasy. Scarab burned into my brain too. Whenever I see a classified I have to check it out...

I really fell in love with the go-fasts when I was a kid. We'd vacation in Saugatuck, MI in the summer. Usually in early August there was a run from Saugatuck to Grand Haven. The sight of all that power cruising up and down the river all weekend on their way out to Lake Michigan while the sound from the pipes echoed off the sand dunes is still clear in my head 25 years later.

No doubt about it though...that scene is probably one of the best that Michael Mann ever created! Before the days of mp3 and music downloads, I actually spent a half day in a real live record store (no one under 25 probably knows what that is  ) tracking down a copy of that tune on....are you ready for this....a 45 single. :drink:
