1650ish?

That shaft is made of some good chit!

Time for a redesign of the scatter shields

Are the drive shafts anything special or up until now was it an overlooked item. Obviously in drag racing the Pro/Stock cars and the Pro/Mods are using some strong stuff.......actually the shafts are aluminum. No boat is making the power of a Pro/Mod Car!

Looks like the shaft coming off the yoke broke where it goes in the trans. Too much flex?

Edit, saw your post about rear u-joint, thanks

I'd have to agree, the Carbon Fiber didn't hold up at all and just shattered into a million pieces. They probably slowed down the shrapnel some but I'd look for something a little stronger like a nice piece of Schedule 40 Aluminum sectioned in half with lot's of bolts to hold it together... Jim

Before the explosion a nice shiny K&N oil filter, after the explosion, no more oil filter !

The tires and/or clutch is slipping until the point at which force=available traction on those cars. Not much (relative) slippage in boats, different animal.

Lift the pro stock up, spin the car to 5000 rpm and drop it back on the track, over and over again :D
