Hope Springs Marina
Does anyone know anything about the Hope Springs Marina in Stafford,VA?
|
From what we have heard it is a fairly good marina. I know there are others on here that use the ramps and live close by
|
Thanks,
I will take a look at it Saturday on my way up to DC. I am planning a trip up the AICW in May, and I need a dry storage for a few months. Warren |
Hope Spring did a major renovation about 1-2 years ago. It is the nicest marina in the area. The added a new large boatel. Its connivent to the Potomac only about 5-10 min no wake zone and a another 5 min past that in your in the river. Its close to the interstate (about 10min).
Hope it helps. Lt. |
We used Hope Springs as our starting point for two trips on the Potomac River to Old Town Alexandria last summer. Ramps and facility were very nice. It's a short drive off I-95 although the last mile or two are on a very narrow road with no shoulders. Sdwayz on this board introduced me to this marina and would have more information. If you have a chance, boat up to Old Town Alexandria and Georgetown.

Lapse of reason lives on Aquia Creek. See if you can contact him also.

Thanks to you all.
I just paid a visit to Hope Springs Marina, and I am going to use it. It is really a nice marina, and they don't rip you off on the gas prices like they do in Florida. I will probably be motoring up in May. Again thanks to you all, Warren |
I agree that last mile to the marina with a 32' is hell. I always tell the wife that I sure hope nobody's comming the other way so far I've been lucky

Hope Springs is perfect for Warren's needs. |
I live on the about 1000 yards away before the no-wake zone. I can see them from my dock, I might have a lift I can do short term rent on also if they want a longer lease.

This should be fine since I only need to or three months. Thanks, Warren |

We made it in today. Six days (one layover in Norfolk due to weather) and 1070 miles.

Man that place sure has cleaned up since the late 80's early
90's when my dad had his boat there for two years. All I remember is all the wooden boats that were half sunken there. How was the water coming up from Florida on your trip? Better question how much has the fuel cost so far? |
Later, I will put a full report in the Sonic section.
