Anyone on the potomac this weekend?

Just wondering if anyone will be out there , midle potomac between Tims II and Coles point?

weather is supposed to be in the high 70's low 80's
wind out of the south 5-10

thru hull?
45sonic ?
ezstiper ?
anyone ?

45sonic 04-24-2008 07:04 PM

Maybe with a big question mark. Still have to finish putting the dash together on the Sonic along with a few other projects on the boat I have not started. Need to clean the Searay for the season AND oh yea yard work too. UGH maybe I will just say f it and go boating. Call us if you are out.

ENFORCER24 04-24-2008 07:30 PM

hey guys
are both your boats docked at Cobb Island?
maybe saturday morning i'll shoot across the river for lunch and a beer
if both boats are there , i shouldnt have a hard time figuring out which pier is yours
hell , if the Sonic is parked there i can figure it out

45sonic 04-25-2008 05:55 AM

The Searay is at Shymansky's on the dock closest to the bridge. The Sonic is in the driveway at the house. Give us a call if you come over.

ThruHull 04-25-2008 12:38 PM

I don't think I will make it on the water this weekend. I am still trying to get three boats back together for friends. If not before, you can count on me being out there Memorial day weekend. :drink:

ENFORCER24 04-25-2008 12:44 PM

Thats a month away , i dont make any plans that far in advance , and if i did have to wait an extra month to get out on the water , i'd be commited to an institution

p.s. do you have any spare props laying around for testing purposes ?

ThruHull 04-25-2008 03:18 PM

I can get my hands on a few, are you looking for a 3 blade or 4 blade?

ENFORCER24 04-25-2008 03:22 PM

i wanna try as many as possable
in my baseline tests she goes all the way to 5200 before i trim up , bow all the way down , and i dont want to rev any higher then that on the stock bottem end of my motor so i'm kinda dumbfounded on how many inches of pitch to go up
i'm looking at a bravo 1 26" 4 blade , and a 27" mirage plus 3 blade
i know i want to run WOT at 4800 trimmed up

ThruHull 04-25-2008 03:31 PM

I might be able to get a 27p 3 blade, I will let you know. Can't help with the 26, I am looking for one of those myself.

ENFORCER24 04-28-2008 07:59 AM

I must be blind , i dont see it , maybe cause my membership expired i dont see signitures anymore?

lol , either way saturday was awesome on the water , got a little choppy in the afternoon , but between 10am and 2pm it was perfect.
i borrowed a 25 pitch mirage from Newburg , Jason and Bobby are awesome people

kinda wierd , with the 23 pitch she ran up to 5200 with throttle still left , moved up to the 25 and i had to play the trim just to get to 4300 R's

the speeds were there , at 4300 I was running 63.5 , if i can get that extra 500 R's i'll be right at 70-72 ish , thats where i wanna be

45sonic 04-28-2008 10:35 AM

ENFORCER24 04-29-2008 07:17 PM

got it saved , thanks

Dave M 05-01-2008 12:27 PM

I'm embarrased to say that I have not splashed yet. I'm usually out by the end of March.

Oh, and I have a 25P Mirage + that was bumped up to a 26 if you want to try/buy.

ENFORCER24 05-01-2008 12:39 PM

I'll keep it in mind Dave , if the weather holds out for saturday i can try and figure out why i'm not spinning the 25 mirage i'm borrowing to full speed , its got me stumped

thanks tho

Don't feel too bad we aren't ready yet on either boat. Maybe, just maybe we might venture out for a liitle trip on Sat. Gilligan's tiki bar opening is Sat.

ENFORCER24 05-01-2008 06:39 PM

if weather permits , i'll be there too

ThruHull 05-01-2008 07:50 PM

A wedding this weekend, and Myrtle Beach next weekend, soooo......not till the 17 of May, but I have been out twice already this spring.:cool-smiley-027::cool-smiley-027:

Sydwayz 05-02-2008 07:14 AM

B&P, why don't you bring that aircraft carrier down to SML for the Poker Run?

Beak Boater 05-03-2008 07:36 AM

If you guys do go out this weekend, I hear the trash is terrible on the river because of the recent rains and high water. Be careful.

ENFORCER24 05-03-2008 07:51 AM

i hear ya , i'll be watching out for it
its 8:45am , and the temp is gettin close to 70
the water isnt like glass , just a light chop
lookin like good conditions , i'm thinkin about lunch at AC's in Coles point , and then running up to Gilligans for a couple mid-afternoon swamp waters :cool-smiley-027:

ENFORCER24 05-03-2008 02:16 PM

gilligans was a let down , 5 boats total , 1 go-fast .... mine
river was more choppy then i expected , doesnt really bother me , but i hade the family with me and full stomachs so i had to keep the speeds down :(
anyway , hopefuly sunday , or next weekend i'll get to meet a few of yall out there

trc2 05-03-2008 02:24 PM

Love Machine 05-03-2008 07:12 PM

Approx. 50 miles.

45sonic 05-04-2008 08:33 PM

We got to Gilligans about 3:30. It was kind of dead for a while. It picked up as the afternoon went by. We left about 7:00 to go back to Cobb Island. Put the boat back on the trailer thinking it was supposed to rain Sat. evening Sun. morning. Boy were they wrong again. Boat ran great gauges all work just need to do some minor adjustments on the shifters and throttles.

ENFORCER24 05-05-2008 07:34 AM

guess i shoulda waited a lil longer , missed ya'll by about 1 hour

Dave M 05-15-2008 06:52 AM

Needless to say, there is a TON of CHIT floating in the river up near the Mattawoman. I was hoping to get my first run in this weekend. I think I willl wait.

ENFORCER24 05-15-2008 07:28 AM

i recently joined a yacht club and our shakedown run is this weekend , gonna be over-nighting at Tall Timbers marina in Southern MD , as for all the crap floating around , guess i'll be bobbing and weaving , hopeing i dont stumble over a rail road tie or telephone pole

hmmm , if i remember reading correctly SHORE THING is from St Mary's county , where you at ???

Beak Boater 05-15-2008 11:21 AM

Shore thing is in Lexington Park I think....Joined a Yacht club, have fun. Watch out for the trees, and such floating down the river.

ENFORCER24 05-19-2008 08:58 AM

Had a blast , only thing i hit was an 18 pack of miller light , after i was safely tied into my slip for the day
i picked the early morning (10am early for me on a weekend) for both the ride down and the ride back on sunday and the water wasnt too ruff
nice 2 foot chop and the boat did awesome , i'm soo happy boating season is back !!

I'm in hollywood on the Patuxent side. I don't make it to the potomac side very often, but i was out on the water saturday and there was no sign of debris from those high tides we had last week. I can't speak for the potomac side though.

ENFORCER24 05-19-2008 10:26 AM

i understand that pontoon boat your rocking is a wave crusher there on the patuxent , lol , i'm sure you miss the Velocity now
good to hear from you tho

Shore Thing 05-19-2008 11:43 AM

Yeah, i do miss the velocity. I haven't bought another boat yet though. I'm caught up in red tape over my pier permit because my 85 year old neighbor is a C*nt. At this point, it doesn't look like my pier is gonna be finished until late july or early august, so i'm not gonna buy a boat until next year. Luckily my parents live right across the creek from me and they have a 30' center console that they never use. So i've commandeered that for the summer.

That sounds like the best kind of boat :D

Shore Thing 05-19-2008 11:56 AM

No doubt. I took it over to boatel california last week and had the waterpumps changed on the outboards. Told my dad it was an early father's day present, but really it was to make me feel less guilty about constantly borrowing it. I killed two birds with one stone.
