Was at Hilton Head and didnt see much, do most people lake boat?? and are there alot of fun places to go, Im originaly from the mid west and looking for something like the the lake of the ozarks.

There is a bumper sticker here in Florida that says

"When I get old I am going up North and drive slow"

My experience on my trip from Melbourne beach to
DC was just that in Southern GA, Southern SC, and
Southern NC. There are too many slow speed zones for
no reason.

SC North of Charleston is pretty good and North
of Morehead City is also good. The best boating
other than my area of Florida is in Virginia.

You will see much more fishing related boating in the Hilton Head area than go fast, but I'm sure there are some between Hilton Head and Savannah. Best lakes for go fast in South Carolina are Lake Murray and Lake Hartwell.
