Hey Chuck,
We were at a place called Lowes Wharf (in between Poplar Island and the eastern shore) on Sunday and saw you guys go by. It had to be you all. That was an impressive display of hardware!!!!! Call next time you are in our area!!!:ernaehrung004: |
Mooky - NJPPC events are restricted to club members only. This allows the club to control discipline. As this was a scouting "Rendezvous" and not a formal run, it was not listed on the club's calendar.
Drillin' - Oh, Man! Were you in the Tiger? We were waterfront at Pussers, trying to warn the Jersy folks about the dangers of #4 Painkillers (to no avail). If I had known that was you, I would have waved you down. At first I thought it was Old Skool, but then my wife pointed out that you were too handsome.... OldSchool - Sorry, man. Actually, we weren't with the group on Sunday. They were on their way to St.Michaels for lunch, and then back to Northeast to pull out. We stayed at a friends house on Trappe Creek Sunday night and ran home on Monday. This is a great group of people. Every one of these boats could have blown us into the weeds without even trying, but were happy to cruise at 60, left lots of room between boats, and didn't crowd each other. After doing most of their boating in Barnegat Bay, they were shocked at how big the Bay is and how much it has to offer. Looks like they'll be back next year, probably more than once. Of course having the best guide boat on the bay ( <ahem> yours truly...:D ) and perfect weather didn't hurt. |

Fast run though....they said they averaged between 75-85mph the whole weekend... Everyone was SUPER nice, and very courteous to each other. When the Fountain spit a prop blade off early Friday, two boats stuck with them, helped them get up on plane, located a spare set of props and had them back with the group within 2 hours. No one crowded anyone or tried to prove a point; just nice, fun, relaxing boating. The way it should be. Nick - Thanks, our pleasure. It was great meeting you and the other guys that we had not met in the past. Next time, we'll have to make the trip longer to give more socializing time. I never made it down to get my "condo" tour, either. I spoke with Frank (Shanghaied Again) last night. He's just now recovering from the Painkillers. Swears he will only drink light beer from now on. |
Looks like a great time Chuck. the weather couldn't have been any better. See ya tomorrow!:ernaehrung004:

We'll be out again from August 20-24. The night of the 20th we'll be in Baltimore at the Inner Harbor East Marina and the Marriott. The 21st through 24th we'll be at the Mariott in Annapolis, making day trips to Kent Narrows, St. Michaels, and maybe one other destination. Can't wait!
