To clarify, 1st post of this thread is from the 2009 run, the 2010 run is in red below. I was thinking Randys eyesight may be going as well so wanted to avoid any confusion:

On a side note, Jamie and I went up to the Harbor about a month ago- great trip! Link here. 301-749-1582 is the Harbor Masters # if any one needs it. Great link here for water info: http://marina.geowake.com/NationalHarbor/ ps Bill, I commend you for putting this together and wish we could make it and thank you for your time. These posts are all in good fun! This message is brought to you by the new and improved married marylandmark. How much fuel did you really burn? I'm confused as one pick says 212 gallons and another 146  So then I'd ask, where were you getting fuel on the water as I also have the 300xs and need the 93 octane. |

All joking aside, I don't wish a broken boat on any one and hope you are back out this weekend as planned (married marylandmark is more gentle and friendly, esp to the women folk since I am "safe" now (not as in queer, not that there is any thing wrong with that...)

I had 5.5 gallons of oil (one 3 gallon tank for each engine) and ended the day with 2 gallons so I burnt 3.5 gallons total on the day. Run times are different because I blew my starboard powerhead around 52 hours. They replaced the ECU since some of the motor shot into it and cracked the circuit board. 300XS need 91, not 93. I run 93 just to make sure I'm at least 91. Kind of like insurance I guess plus ethonal breaks down fuel fast. I also keep my boat on a lift and am not going to waste 1/2 my day trailering to a gas station. I get it at Goose Bay Marina on the Port Tobacco River. http://www.goosebaymarina.com/ Cheers! |

[QUOTE=marylandmark;3190430]I've been looking for you since June 1st?

The Boat is being delivered for the install tomorrow, say a prayer for me, what an ordeal. With any luck I will be running, testing, this weekend |
Mark,
Gas does go bad, but is does not loose octane easily. I have lots of gas test going and street pump gas that is 10 months old. Still has the same Octane as when new, and that is generally 1 to 1.5 Octane higher than advertised on the pump. ( pump says "minimum octane). You may have water and other crap in the gas but the octane remains fairly steady. My lawn mower with 2 year old gas runs like crap, but the octane is ok. Octane = less chance of detonation My next test will be octane rating of Coors Light....... |

We got A-3
|
Anybody need a slip. I'm stuck in Boston and won't be able to make it :(
|
I could be game for this weekend. I'll know later this week.
We did the wall in Georgetown for Happy Hour on Friday night. The foot traffic in Georgetown has already drastically reduced for the season. |
My slip is paid for so before you get another, maybe i can just switch it to you since there is no refund less than 14 days.
Let me know. drejustice (a) rocketmail.com |

Since they are almost full, they may give you a refund, there is a cruiser group also coming in, so they may need your slip as well. |

They'll just rerent it out! Anyway, if someone wants it i'll send them my confirmation and you'll just need to pay the difference probably in footage. |
Sorry going to oc bike week w my good buddys Randy and Sharon.
|
They only give refunds if there is a small craft advisory. I think if you use the confimation number, and pay cash you might be able to pull it off if the boat is close to the same.
|
OK, here's a tenative schedule
For southern boaters heading up and if some of you from up north want to run down Meet at Tim's 2 Fairview at 11:00am Depart from Tim's 2 Fairview by 11:30 Head up to Tim's 1 we will be there from arrival til about 2:00pm I would like to get to DC by 3:00, those who want to check in wherever you are staying (if you are staying) may do so. http://alexandriava.gov/recreation/i....aspx?id=12474 I'd like also to head up to the Wall in Georgetown for either a pass thru or maybe find someone to let us tie up. Some of us may shoot over to National Harbor to check it out If anyone has any preferences as to what they might like to do while up in the DC area please feel free to add to the disorganized schedule. Other than that this is an unorganized event with planning up to each boat and participants. As usual BUI is strictly enforced especially above the Woodrow Wilson bridge. |
Want to thank everyone who showed up for the DC Fun Run. We had a blast in Georgetown, had all tied together next to a cruiser on the wall. Old Town Alexandria for dinner and then the docks for drinks. Breakfast was as you chose, either Chadwicks, your own boat, or a small diner on King St.
The dockmaster came to u...s on Sun morning telling us it "sounded like a NASCAR race when you all left to go to Georgetown, the whole dock stopped and watched" Thanks again |
I had a great time. Beautiful weather, great people.
|
We also had a great time.
|
Was a great time, Thanks for pulling this together, the weather was ideal, great running with everyone, don't think I have ever seen that many tied off the wall before,
|
How many boats showed up? We only saw a few boats at Tims Sat morning. Would have liked to have gone but already had plans for Sat. evening.

Total of 8 boats |
Thanks we sure will try next time. We plan on being at Tims for the radar run in Oct.
How much fuel did you burn going to DC in your Sonic? I am assuming the beautiful red boat we saw at Tims Sat. morning is your 45. |
