St. Johns trip!

Ok, via a head count, who's planning on going to the St. Johns river May 10th? Red Warlock & Dream Weaver are going!:D

cougarcat 04-03-2002 03:34 PM

We're in......heading out of Douglasville at 0530.......

gaboatnut 04-03-2002 04:49 PM

Still trying to make it work. But as I am supposed to be in Fort Lauderdale the weekend before, I wont know until the last minute.

speedbump 04-04-2002 04:50 AM

We're in...heard a rumor that there's at least 22 rooms booked for the club so.....Who else?

Courgarcat...ya'll gonna come over to Allatoona soon? Our boat is almost ready but some of the crew are already taking theirs out this weekend!!! I'm jealous!:(

And guys....you have 35 days left!!!!:D ;)

cougarcat 04-05-2002 11:25 AM

speedbump--We probably won't make it to Allatoona much this year. Lake Wedowee in Al. has us pretty spoiled and it's damn near the same size as Allatoona( I know that's not saying much). Angie's not much for rough water----Not many big(24' or better) boats to make wake over there---actually there aren't many boats over there at all-----ever. I've been draggin my feet---- the boat is still in the basement. Only 64o or so this weekend might be a bit too chilly to warrant a 1.5 hour drive each way. Hope to see you guys in Florida.

RedWarlock 04-07-2002 09:38 PM

Bump...

So far, less than 10... C'mon guys, don't be bashfull now... :p

speedbump 04-08-2002 05:01 AM

Courgarcat....I guess this means we're just gonna have to make plans to come see the Great Lake Wedowee huh? Water was a choppy this weekend on Allatoona but had a great time...cold as heck in the morning but by 2pm it was nicely warm (even got a nice burn going...ouch!). Tell Angie we said "hello"!! We'll see you soon!

speedbump 04-09-2002 06:10 AM

Everyone - 30 days to go!!!
 :D

speedbump 04-11-2002 04:51 AM

28 days.....:)

Stryker 04-11-2002 08:16 AM

It's not lookin too good. Too much to do and to little time.:(

speedbump 04-11-2002 11:11 AM

Unacceptable....
What do you need help doing? Four hands are better than two....(as I offer Chris' services)....

Stryker 04-11-2002 11:50 AM

Just playin it by ear so to speak. Chris probably could help the old man across the street. He can't even return my call he is so busy.
I will hate to get old like him. Poor old focker.

speedbump 04-11-2002 12:42 PM

Well the old man helped Chrissy Baby already with ours so maybe we wore him out.

Of course if you claim you can't get the boat ready then you'll just be required to hitch a ride on other folks boat. We'll take Lisa.;)

Stryker 04-12-2002 08:42 AM

If that were the case ,I'd ride with Seadated since he loves me so much. Plus all that money should go toward something....Right?

SeaDated 04-12-2002 09:03 AM

Stryker...are you ready to go boating yet??

Stryker 04-12-2002 12:13 PM

NO  Can't get the parts quickly. Napa had to order from the warehouse and it's already been a week. I will go by Applied
Technologies next Monday to get the seals and spare bearings.

SeaDated 04-12-2002 01:39 PM

What did you order??

Dreamweaver 04-12-2002 01:39 PM

Somebody mention... NAPA?!?!

SeaDated, tell Stryker... when it comes to parts, I'm your hook up! ;)

SeaDated 04-12-2002 01:50 PM

DW, some people are beyond help and Stryker is beyond them!!

SeaDated 04-12-2002 01:53 PM

DW

NAPA = NOA PARTSA

Dreamweaver 04-12-2002 02:40 PM

Hey SeaDated - they own me, so watch what you say!!!!!!:p

LS-7 04-12-2002 10:13 PM

napa=no available parts anytime
no motor either

Stryker 04-15-2002 08:04 AM

Dang guys I know I might need a little help but geese all the grief.
And what's this "beyond help" statement?..Payback PAL's. Now as far as NAPA goes, the guy that helped me the first time must not have been their sharpest tool so to speak. The wrong shoes, wheel cylinder and springs. Three strikes and your out, so luckily the manager helped and should be good to go today. I will have the boat seaworthy by the weekend if all parts arrive and are correct. DW are you afiliated (SP) with NAPA?

Question of the week?
Why does it take about three weeks to repack bearings and replace brakes? NAPA .....................like Grandpa said "No Available Parts Anytime" :D

kaamacat 04-15-2002 08:38 AM

Stryker...........Its kinda interesting. Seems like the "smaller" NAPA's cary a limited supply and are almost family run (best description i could think of). But, the one in Alpharetta is much larger and has a great supply. In fact this one was the only one that could make my high-pressure hoses for the trans cooler. (go figure). I was rebuilting my sons 2bbl on the 70' lemans, and they wanted a deposit (yes deposit) before they would order a kit which only costs $20. (this was the store in Cumming which I have written off now).

SeaDated 04-15-2002 09:07 AM

Stryker...I heard the NAPA guy was trying to sell you the correct shoes for your trailer but you said you wanted the quality NIKE kind. Maybe if you knew what you were doing, things would go better. Just busting on you. I hope you get that bad boy ready soon. If you need anything do call.

speedbump 04-15-2002 11:06 AM

Don't forget Northern Tools is right there at White Water on Hwy 41....a quick lunch trip for ou buddgy....

Stryker 04-15-2002 11:43 AM

I'm busy at work today, I've been to Northern for seals and bearings and they had what I needed. Went by Smyrna Marine for a water pump housing and they were closed. Sap suckers. Now on the way home tonite I'll hit Napa. Time's a tickin.........

Thanks Speedy for the idea....your such a Sweety.

Dreamweaver 04-15-2002 11:50 AM

Alright now gentlemen - I work for a newly acquired division of Genuine Parts Company, aka NAPA. We don't sell NAPA parts, we sell the OE parts, along with other supplies & equipment.

Styker - if you need anything, just let me know and I'll ship the stuff to ya via UPS!

Kaama - many NAPA stores are independently owned, but there are company owned stores also, which typically carry a lot more.

Need any auto parts or supplies? Gimme a ring!

DW
Goddess of Automotive Products
:D

Stryker 04-15-2002 11:53 AM

Is it just me or does the title "Goddess of Auto Parts" kinda have a special ring to it?

speedbump 04-15-2002 12:13 PM

Truely if you need something we can get it to you quickly one way or the other....DW sends to Chrissy Baby, I get from Chris on my way home, jump of 75 and throw the parts through your office window....:D

24 days and counting....

kaamacat 04-15-2002 12:36 PM

Dreamweaver. Sorry.....:( .......was just saying that the larger stores seem to have a much nicer setup. To put things in perspective......When I want a quality part or accessory, I head to NAPA (although its gonna cost a bit more). If I just want oil and such, its Autozone or AdvanceAuto.

And to be the x-tra nice guy.........NAPA was the only place that stocked the A/C MR series of plugs (about $1.35each).

Bob

RedWarlock 04-15-2002 12:37 PM

That's one hell of a commute!!!

Stryker, where exactly do you work? And why in Gods holy name would you get a house halfway accross the state from it!?!?!?

kaamacat 04-15-2002 12:40 PM

And Stryker........If you dig the hole, we could make water runs to to ya for Lake Sharpsburg....:D

gaboatnut 04-16-2002 09:37 AM

Man can ya'll sidetrack a thread! LOL! And I thought that only happened on our Crownline Forum:p

My schedule looks like it has freed up to make the St Johns trip. I just checked and there is still room at the inn (so to speak). So is there a head count? And will I be the only SINGLE (as in UN-MARRIED!!) person that might be going?

Stryker 04-16-2002 10:34 AM

Red- It's not that bad of a commute. Most mornings only take about 30 min to get to Vinings at 75-285. Most of the people I work with live in northern metro Atl (Woodstock,Roswell) and their commute is a longer drive time than mine.Go figure. More transplants up in north ATL than on the south end. Damn Yankees. And speakin of Yank's doesn't Seadookie drive just as far ? Oh didn't I see Seadook floating down the Chattahoochee River the other day? Dang this fun GIG ,pal.:D

SeaDated 04-16-2002 11:27 AM

gaboatnut, there were 23 rooms held by folks who say they are going as of last week. As the trip gets closer I'll have a better count. No, you will not be the only single person on the run. In fact, my wife says if I don't stop wanting a 35 Fountain I'll be single too. I will be putting out the itinerary soon as well as diving info. What is a good exit down by you for the south siders to meet up with the group on Thursday morning? Glad you can make it. Trust me...it's a blast!

Stryker, AKA bearing *****, did you get that thing ready yet? Oh, and my drive is a mere 47 miles and takes about 45 mins.

Stryker 04-16-2002 11:34 AM

Nope- NAPA still didn't get the parts....oh well. Maybe today.

As far as the southside meeting spot.....who knows. We won't leave until thursday afternoon/night. If we can make it that is.

gaboatnut 04-16-2002 11:44 AM

COOL...I've been wanting to do a St Johns trip for years. I figure on leaving Thursday late afternoon and will hook into 75 in Macon. PUT ME DOWN!! Corona's and BudLites will be iced down for the evenings after the River :D

SeaDated 04-16-2002 12:06 PM

gaboatnut. fantastic! Glad you can make it. It sounds like Stryker and you will be leaving around the same time. A word of caution...If you see a red and white stryker boat going down the road, STAY CLEAR. It's a good chance that's Roger (aka stryker) and he'll be bouncing of the walls in the truck high on Redbull and there's no telling how those dang NAPA parts will be doing either.

Stryker 04-16-2002 12:14 PM

Redbulls, a pregnant woman and parts flyin as he hauls azz.
Life's fun when you are me.
