It's not police pressence they need it's organization. People just raft up where ever they feel, with no reguard for any type of traffic flow. There have been bad storms every year Ive gone. I have not had any damage, this year I will be as far away as possible.

We thought about trailing up and dropping in the potomac for this last year then read about all the stories of idiots not knowing what to do, damaged boats, etc from the previous year storm so we passed.
Looks like we made the right choice since last year's had the same senario, again due to weather.
I don't think I wanna put our boat into that zoo, though we might think about taking a rental with the FULL INSURANCE option
or we might try and offer our services as experienced deckhands and drinking partners

Pretty sure its going to happen at National Harbor this year.Due to the fact Prince William host this event to sell boats and they dont sell many when the have the event at Fairview.I could be wrong but I heard this from an employee so I tend to believe it.

I have always been up in the mix, and had no trouble getting out once I realized a storm was coming.

I work at a waste water treatment plant Blue Plains actually spits out some of the cleanest water around. Blue Plains is 50 miles by water north. You have three more treatment plants between there and Blue Plains (Arlington Alexandria and one of Fairfax's) to worry about and the real problem that is arrising is the bad septic systems in the local Stafford area.
